How do I use my seam ripper? Far too much lately! :)

I enjoyed the video, but I’ve never been comfortable zipping through long seams like that.

Sometimes I can zip along and sometimes I can't.........whatever, it was something I didn't know until a few years ago and wondered if I was all alone.

I can't believe I never knew this with all the sewing I did for years. Do you ever find you have ripped the fabric this way?
