Currently I have a 8x3 bed that I'm planning on devoting to purple hull pink eye peas. I'm planning on 9 seeds per square. Is this enough/too much for 6 people to enjoy?

I have another 8x3 bed that I'm considering using half for beans. I purchased blue lake bush seeds but am thinking I might like to split that half with a yellow pole variety. Would that work? Essentially the blue lake would get 6 squares and I'd have 6 squares to try a pole variety. I was thinking it would be nice to have a mix of beans but I want to be sure my yield will be enough to serve for dinner for 6 people. Should I stick to one bean variety for the 12 squares or include a pole variety? If pole, what is the best way to get the most yield given my space?

Last, any favorite stringless yellow pole varieties?
