Thank you Classic Home Improvements. No recessed lighting in the dinning room but we have 10 foot ceilings. Our kitchen is opposite the dinning room with 6 can lights but no pendants yet so we have plenty of light. I like the linear chandeliers but now wondering if wound would look better.

Yes, I agree that the round would probably give you the best outcome.

Before getting the chandelier, I would suggest first finalizing the table. It looks a little tight in the space, especially on the left end. Not seeing the other end of the room in the photo, I do not know but was wondering if the table could be re-oriented in the other direction. Part of also knowing the best table for space also depends on how many people you need to seat on a daily basis.

What about these chandeliers that you see below in a design of ours? They might go wonderfully with your table.

First, I'd try rotating the table so it aligns well with the windows. Since you're blending rustic cabin with country French, try something like this - simple clean lines with metal.

I'm not a fan of anything you have going on in that space style-wise, but in general I would do a round chandelier.

Did you mean for this room to be so very casual? I think the room could use drapery panels. The chairs seem very close to the walls. Can the table be turned?

I am happy with the way the table is arranged & do not want to block the entry into a bedroom & bathroom. This is a casual home & functions well for my family. I have an 11 year old & twin 4 year olds so not much time right now to decorate. I'm just trying to complete my newly constructed home. Thank you to those who have given advice on a chandelier.

Have you tried it with the bench under the window opposite the arched entry and the table turned the other way? That will leave a lot of floor space to navigate from the doorway into the kitchen area.
