Absolutely, as long as they will take a post-dated 3rd party check. My plan is to re-design the master closet into an AirBNB rental. Get rid of all that marble, which I find hideously busy. Rent the guest house out as permanent. Work my ass off sprinting to and fro, from the butler's pantry to the actual kitchen, while I make breakfast. And spend any $ I make on maintenance. Has anybody here ever cleaned a marble toilet? A nightmare.

Lol. I really do find this house to be tacky, in much of the decor/materials- no matter the quality. They might as well have wrapped walls in $100 bills. Why do rich people want this? I'll never know.

I love the outside. The inside is overdone with high end materials being used for the sake of using high end materials. As my mother use to say: "Some people have more money than taste."

If I bought it, I figure I would need $3-4 million more in reserve so I could gut much of the interior and do something a bit more simple and refined.

Other than the master bath which is over done much of the décor is traditional for houses in NO.

Re the kitchen - I doubt the homeowners actually do/did much cooking - in the 'olden days' the actual kitchen was a totally separate building, and the recent/current owners most likely either eat at one of the great French Quarter restaurants or have food delivered.

I really wish I had seen the ad for the house as I was in the area two weeks ago - probably only a block away from the home.

I love NOLA but wouldn't want to live there full time. My maternal grandmother's entire family is from LA and she actually grew up in NOLA.

It's a mixed bag, most of it doesn't bother me much. I don't care for the master bath or the wine cellar. I've seen much worse taste in the Building a Home forum.
