I looked up the color on a website called encycolorpedia-balboa mist has slightly more red than green or blue, (RGB is 229, 215, and 205) so I think it’s possible it will look pink in some light.

I know that there are pink undertones but wouldn’t have thought it would affect it so much. But I read a bunch of sites (while drinking wine) and am seeing that in south facing rooms people are seeing “pink” :(

They are painting this morning. My second choice was snappy dresser by Para paint - I didn’t like it as much because Balboa Mist is lighter. I think being so last minute now I will have to go with that.

Fortunately if you absolutely can’t stand it, you can change it-but if there’s still time cancel the painters and see if the paint color can be adjusted, or have the paint store match and lighten Snappy Dresser.

Sometimes you just need to see the paint in your room, allow it to dry, and live with it for a week or three. Colors are affected by natural light, sunlight, electric bulb brightness and light bulb types.
A lighting specialist, even some of the salespeople in a lighting store, may have suggestions regarding which kind of bulb to use to accentuate or minimize undertones in wall paint.

I just painted one wall and the alcove with Balboa Mist.
I don’t see any pink in it.

There’s just a tiny hint of purple.
It’s hard to see the real colour in this photos.

i have a giant master bedroom painted balboa mist, with east, west, and north light. no pink.

but you get a lot of reflection from rug color. i have a red rug in my library, with blue walls, and the ceiling which is painted white looks a bit lavender.

so i guess if you dont want pinkish walls, dont have red in your rug.

i love the balboa mist, by the way. we've had it 3 years now, and it still feels fresh to me.

Those pics looks great, with lots of light, and I don’t see any pink! I’ve stopped painting and instead our contractor is putting up a sample of snappy dresser, Collingwood and balboa on the sun wall.

Any updated photos of the Balboa Mist? This is a color my friend used and it looks smashing in her house. I fell in love with it and I am thinking of having it done in my kitchen, breakfast and family room area. I would love to see photos, if you have them to share. Thanks in advance.

@boxerpal Yes we used Balboa Mist on some walls and I also tried it in the kitchen.

In the kitchen, it looks more beige while in the family room is more gray-blue. You really have to try it in different places, it varies a lot.

Would you mind sharing which colors you have up here?
