Kitchen Lighting design
Hello,
We are about to start a kitchen renovation and I am in need of some major lighting design help. Our kitchen will be a horseshoe shape except the cabinets will not extend all the way down one side of the horseshoe (we didn't have enough room for the island). On the side that the cabinets do not extend we decided to add an angle bay window with drawers below so it sort of feels like a complete horseshoe. However- this means that the island is NOT centered in the room. We have 9ft walls that then peak into a cathedral ceiling with a wooden beam at the top. So....how do I light the sink and the island? I was originally thinking just one big chandelier in the center but the island is also not centered lengthwise in the room so if the chandelier was in the center of the room it would not necessarily be over the middle of the island.... and for the sink light- maybe a wall light/downward pointing sconce instead of hanging an additional light from the beam? HELP!!! Thanks so much in advance. Here are some pics of the design on paper and actual beam.
