Composite decking verses pavers around pool?

Any experience with composite decking around a pool? Possibly thinking of this or a small section of decking with remaining pavers. We have a large loggia around two sides of the pool that will be pavers so I think a different material for the pool decking may be nice. Our pool builder doesn't have experience with it.

Composite can get blister your feet hot if you are in a sunny location, and can be slippery. Two things that might not go well with pools.

We've had composite decking in the past...can get incredibly hot, slippery at times, and it was susceptible to mildew stains that were a big pain to clean. I can't imagine it around a pool. Good luck!

Your wood sub-framing must be set to allow about 10" of space to allow for air exchange to prevent it's rotting. The sub-base (gravel, dirt) must pitched away to prevent standing water. Or, a drainage system must be in place to wick away water. Too much trouble.

Stick with natural stone, pavers or concrete.

@Colleen Did you end up installing composite decking around your pool? We are in new pool build phase and considering composite decking as we've hit our maximum impervious coverage.
