Yes the sink will be the preferred place for a seam
Better have a small seam in the sink area then showing in the middle of the slab

Ours is. I think it is less noticeable there since the sink breaks the line.

My granite was installed today, and Jose did a fantastic job mine is in the middle of my double sinks and NO one can see it.( My sister & brother in law looked and looked and couldnt find the seams)..and you shouldn't be able to notice yours at all...He did a awesome job on mine....My kitchen isn't very big about 12x12 maybe My back splash is long and off a little on the right so..Instead of it being one long piece like he wanted to do.. he will cut it behind the gas stove and under the Microwave there's only about 8-9 inches maybe that is seen and you'd really have to search for a seam, it will never be noticable....Jose is putting the rest of my granite back splash in tomorrow probably, the upper counter and window ledge and pass through to Lanai. He did a superior job so far I'm extremely happy and he gave me a awesome deal. He is installing 89 L Ft. I Love, Love, Love it.!!
