I’m not 100% on their mature size, but I think they get to like 4’ max? The Little lime that is...so if that’s big enough for the hedge you want, I say go for it.

QF and Little QF are the earliest (or one of the earliest) paniculatas to leaf out and bloom. Limelight and Little Lime will bloom after the QFs. Little Lime has an off white bloom color while Limelight has more pure white blooms.

I am in SE MI and have 3 LL (although not in a hedge form). They bloom around mid-July and get about 4' high. I LOVE them and get a ton of complements on them when people pull in my driveway.

you pretty much summed up the pros and cons of each so its just a matter of your preference.

Personally, I like limelight blooms better even though I have to wait a few more weeks for them to come.

I sometimes drive by a fancy home in another town that has a hedge of Little Limes partly around a magnolia. Looks very nice when planted around the magnolia's drip line.

Check out Bobo, which is fuller than LQF and a bit smaller than either of the two you are looking at. It starts blooming at the same time as QF and LQF here.

quickfire's flowers are not particularly dense, unlike little lime, thus, as a hedge little lime will definitely look better

I seem to be one of the few people who prefers the lacier look of Quickfire over one like Limelight or a really overblown blossom form like Strawberry Sundae. {shudder}

Well, I ended up planting LQF at my front entrance and little limes in front of my garage, so hopefully I will get the best of both worlds! The 3 gallon little limes are much larger than the 3 gallon LQF, however...LQF are around 12-18" tall right now. Does anyone know how fast LQF grows? My full size quickfire became a monster fairly quickly, but I have no previous experience with this dwarf variety...

Zone 5 here. I have a row of LQFs against my taupe house siding. They are vigorous growers& bloom early, with no drooping. The blooms are white for about 2 days, then turn a mauve tan color that is ugly IMO. Then turn pure mauve by the end of August. Still unattractive. They hardly show up against the house at all. I have some Bobos elsewhere that bloom later, but stay a nice bright white. Think I’ll move the LQFs away from the house and plant Bobos there. Bobo is gorgeous!

I bought some LQF's last year after having loved big Quickfire at my old house. LQF has been blooming a few weeks and blooms are not as lacy and pretty as regular QF. The color starts white and loses its brightness quickly (see the beige one on the left) Nothing special at all. I hope the color gets better as the season progresses. Year 1 is a still early to judge, but so far, meh.

also noteworthy the one on the left gets a little more sun and also was a 3 gal pot. The other 2 were mail order... a 1 gallon I think. They bloomed later than the one on the left.

I also have TIckled Pink. It was touted as a smaller Quickfire. This is 5 years old and I prune it heavily late winter. It's nice, but not as nice as QF. The pink doesn't last as long or as pretty. (although thats from memory... I'm going to have to compare pics after it turns).
