I would like to know the exact gray color you have in mind, but, yes, it could be a great carry over color. At her age, maybe some fun, girly, sweet, tomboy, what ever her personality, decals on the wall. As she grows, the two of you can choose some new ones and then in highschool, just gray. Very neutral and flexible.

Look at BM Collingwood.

Nothing like inducing depression. Unless they are almost a silvery white sounds potentially a bit grim in winter.
Turquoise lilac or white are great with pink. IMO.

Green would also go well with pink.

Are you trying to avoid painting it in a few years when she's tired of pink? Chances are no matter what you paint it she'll want to change it.

Gray is a great choice. This nursery was put together for a couple that didn't know if they were having a girl or a boy. A soft gray is the perfect background, especially if you have white trim.

My 3 year old boy's room is grey but it's very gender neutral (accent color is turquoise) so I definitely think it would work for a girl's room. His room gets a lot of light - very bright not depressing at all.
We used Pittsburgh Paints Greystone.

After trying BM calm OC-22 I think it is one shade too pale for me. Does anyone have a suggestion for a grey that is just a hint darker then calm which almost looks white on our walls.

I just painted both my daughters' rooms BM's Balboa Mist. I think it is in his OC (off-white collection). I haven't finished yet but you could see what I have so far under my discussions.

I think that grey is great. So easy to change up as she grows. Good job!

You can ask someone over at BM to darken the paint for you by 50%. If the undertones are what you're going for, which are sometimes hard to get right with grays, then it might be worth a try.

I agree with lizzankowski. If "Calm" is the right shade, but too light, just increase the percentage of the formula until you get the intensity you want. Don't go through the trouble of looking for another color.
