Very nice. That island color reminds me of an island they did on Flip or Flop and I remember thinking, that is so bold! I love it.

First off, WOW! Amazing transformation. The color of the island really brings the kitchen to life. Adding the brass lighting fixtures ties it all in together. AWESOME!

Did you combine another room ( take out a wall behind the old stove )with the original K space to achieve this one long expanse for your new kitchen ? Is the window above the current sink in the same location as the original one ? Is the island base color SW “Naval” , by chance ? Where is the refrigerator in your new K ? Again, so pretty ! — PS: You should get a stipend from the cabinet manufacturer for showcasing those beautiful mirrored cabinets ; ))) - what brand are they ? —- Thank you for any info. you might be willing to share .( We are not building - settled in our home - just curious in our admiration and also, gathering ideas for our daughter’s future home . ) Thanks, again, Ellen.

Julie Colbert, the stools are from Front Gate! And little background about my kitchen. Yes we knocked wall down where oven was that was my dining room. So we made my kitchen double the size with one night great island for entertaining. The island is about 11ft long! I always wanted a big white kitchen that won’t go out of style. Last minute I decided to do a Navy island vs a grey island. And have no regrets. I love it. The countertops are Cambria Brittanica. The kitchen cabinets I didn’t Love them so much. They are Kith! The mirror doors they don’t make. But something I always visioned. So I got hollow doors. Had someone make the millions. And then had a mirrored guy install the mirrors! Came out perfect and breaks up the mirrors. The floor looks Marble but of course it’s porcelain tile. Love it. But white grout definitely gets dirty 4 kids!!! All the gold accents I kept seeing when I was researching and loved it. So went with simple gold handles. The lighting was probably my hardest part to pick out. Wanted simple but beautiful. The shell chandelier over kitchen table is from Horchow. The gold lanterns over island are called Darlana I believe for online @ NY lighting. Love the pot filler highly recommend. that was a last minute add on! Took years of looking at pics to know what I wanted. And say a good 5 months to complete, with the rest of my first floor!

Love your home! Your entry, perhaps just update the wall color? I love the stain and trim. Might just find a better paint tone to tie in with the black living and vibrant (and incredible) island.

Ellen, beautiful kitchen! Would you mind sharing where you purchased and the name of your backsplash? Love this! Also, for entry, I'd buy one rug the width of the one at the door, but the length of that one plus the other one, if that makes sense. It's hard to tell, but if you have space for a narrow table on the left of that hallway into the kitchen, I would try to find a narrow navy table, and put a gold narrow lamp on it, with gold accents as well. Love this kitchen though! SWOON!!

I would remove the second rug and perhaps add a big plant.

Ellen, the mirrored kitchen doors add just the right amount of subtle glam. Love it! Very unique! I don't think you need our advice on the other parts of your home, you seem like you are doing pretty great already. :)

The backsplash is from Tilebar in NYC. They have amazing stuff. And ship all over. My backsplash is a Calacatta& thassos Marble tile. See pic. Thanks

Wow. This is so gorgeous! I've been away from here for a while (long enough that the logo changed...!) and this is so lovely to see.

For your entry, first yes, you clearly know what you're doing. But: I agree with tilleylove's suggestions, and I have a couple others: One, I'd paint the walls BM Balboa Mist, as I think that pale grey would really lead the eye nicely into the kitchen more than the current color, and it would tie into the family room as well. The second thing I'd consider is changing out the interior doors for ones that have a more current design rather than the curved inset.

Don't get me wrong -- it's a gorgeous house. These are just what I'd do since you asked, plus tilleylove's ideas. :)

Your kitchen is absolutely gorgeous, actually your entire house looks beautiful. The mirrored kitchen doors really set your kitchen apart from what others have done.
Can I just question one little thing though, why did you paint the wall with the window at the end of the kitchen that colour? Please don’t take offence , your kitchen is stunning but I look at that wall and it doesn’t seem to fit into the colour scheme?

For the hallway I would get rid of the two carpet look, 1 long runner would work wonders for your space.

Ok I had a designer pick paint colors because I was lost. If it was up to me everything would be grey & white. She said it would clash, need to do neutrals. Another thing I did is painted all my ceilings a lighter neutral. And the white crown really stands out. Of all the colors the one in my kitchen isn’t my favorite. It’s lighter in person. But the room leads to my dining room see below. And I used a really nice wallpaper to change it up. That room is not furnished yet.
As for the Hall I don’t have the two rugs. I just put a round carpet for now.

Ellen, you did a fabulous job. I do not typically like wall paper but I just love this paper in your dining room. I think the round carpet looks fine. I have a similar entrance and I have the same set up as you previously had with the 2 carpets. My issue is that I live in Canada and our winters are long so I am looking for one large carpet so people can enter and have ample room to remove boots. Are you asking for feedback on the paint colour in the kitchen or sharing the information. If you want input perhaps share a picture of your kitchen as this thread does not have one.
