Kitchen sink Installation question re clips

The question is: Do I need to use the clips?

I am installing a drop-in quartz composite sink in a corian countertop in the kitchen. The countertop installer cut the hole perfectly and the sink doesn’t move. Right now it is sealed with silicon. The sink weighs about 40 pounds, IIRC.

In the reviews, people complained about the clips not working very well. When I put them on the sink before it was installed, I realized I would have trouble putting the sink into the hole because the open clips went beyond the perimeter of the hole.

Now that the sink is in the hole and sealed, I could probably add some (not all) of the clips, but I don’t want to. In some places, they would tighten against corian; in others, they would tighten against wood; there may be cabinetry in the way; I don’t have enough room to work in the front, the clips may not catch a countertop edge correctly because of the way the wood/corian is layered in some places, I’m worried about cracking the sink because I heard that happens if you overtighten, etc.

When I called the sink manufacturer the first time, I THINK the rep told me that I did not have to use the clips for a drop in because of the weight of the sink. That plus the perfectly cut corian and the precise lip around the sink on the underside made me decide not to try the clips before drop-in, which would have for sure made a huge silicon mess with me trying to jiggle the sink into place.

The second time I called the manufacturer, a different rep told me that they could not tell me it was ok not to use the clips. I don’t think that rep had any installation experience.

Do I need to try to install the clips? The clamps and screws are metal and the rest is plastic with a hinge and pins. Sink is 22x33 double bowl, equal sizes.

It looks beautiful as is, BTW.
