You will have to type of the name on the back of the piece. The photo doesn't show it very well.

And the fun thing about art - you either like it or you hate it. Purchasing art as an investment is a hit-or-miss event. You can purchase it because you love it. Or you can purchase it in the HOPES it will rise in value.....but that takes the heart of a Speculator. And speculators have money....lots of money to spend in the HOPES that one of their investments pays off.

Personally I say, "Buy it if you love it". Purchase art for what it does FOR YOU....not what it MIGHT do sometime in the future.

Place a piece of light paper over the signature and firmly holding or taping it down take a soft pencil and lightly run the pencil over the paper where the name is. If done correctly the name will show up as a lighter color on the paper. Then post a picture of the paper.

Who cares it is a beautiful sculpture. If you care, take it to a local museum that has great sculptures and get an appraisal or analysis. Do you want to sell it?

As someone who used to buy things if they had a name on them I always wanted to know more about who or what made the item. It never meant I wanted an appraisal or analysis of the item I wanted to know about who made it. It is not always about the money but the object and its maker.
