Windows Design Dilemma Bathrooms

Need advice on bathroom layout, specifically the shower doors

I am redesigning my very small bathroom. The bathtub will be running the entire width of the bathroom and at the far end of the wall from the faucet is a large window. It is a lovely window that I would like to keep for the added light. The problem is that the window starts about 13 inches from the wall and runs about 28inches. This means that the bathtub ends at approximately 2/3 of the windows width. Fine, except... how do I put in shower doors? Surely they can't be placed up against a window. I'm feeling stuck and would hate to loose the light from the window. Any suggestions?

"bathroom designer" yea.... if I had one I wouldn't be here :) I asked my contractor via email but it's Sunday and won't here back till tomorrow. I think I may need to flip the tub around so it goes against the other wall and the window is fully in the shower. The problem is the sink next to the tub will be close and just barely to code (needs 30 inches, I have about 32...maybe). thanks for your help!

I'm having a hard time visualizing it. can you possibly post a couple of pictures? it sounds like it has some good potential!

Hi Jo, thanks for your response. I have attempted to draw in the tub and show where the shower door would intersect with the window. hard to tell, and my drawing skills are about as good as my design skills :/

What does your bathroom designer/planner say?

Some people use a half glass wall and not a full sliding door. Some people cover the window with a shower curtain to protect it during the shower and open it when done.

do you need a full sized tub? go with a more narrow or corner unit shower opposite the window.

I don't know if you have a tub/shower combo or not, but if you have space for both, then I would recommend a corner tub which would be lovely under the window and next to it a separate stand-up shower.
