Marvin window sash hardware

I'm replacing 15 windows in our 1938 brick home with Marvin Ultimate double hung windows. I think I'm going with oil rubbed bronze for the hardware. I hemmed and hawed over polishing and reusing the original brass sash lifts and getting Marvin's brass window latches. I eventually decided against it as the brasses don't really match and I felt I would be pigeon holed into using more brass finishes which could be a look that feels dated rather than vintage. The ORB will somewhat match the worn brass plated door knobs and hinges. The question I'm grappling with now is: should I get a sash lift on the bottom window? Do people use their window sash hardware to lift the windows or lift the window from the frame? This is a new house to us - the windows are heavy and stick so we often lift the windows from the frame. In the Marvin showroom, many of the windows did not have sash lift hardware and it seemed to be a really clean look. Curious to hear what others think or have done.
