Not run of the mill....good ole real Orientals.....made in the middle east, not China nor India but Iran Iraque and afghanistan.
Look for many knots per inch...turn it over....look for a subtle fading called abrash...look for a fringe that is formed from the weft....and go on lthe web and look up things like Sarouk, Hamadan,Bokhara. The green one in the background looks like a Chinese rug....not a modern cheap copy but a real good old Chinese rug.

It might be worth the expense to have someone come in and appraise the rugs. They can be quite valuable!

I have a lot of skepticism about rug appraisers... I have several Oriental rugs...2 inherited from my parents. One my mother had appraised for estate purposes....and my brother had that same rug appraised for estate purposes when she died. The first time it appraised at $20,000 and 4 years later by a different appraiser, at $3,000. I asked about the difference and he said..."Where are you going to find someone to buy a 15 foot by 16 foot Sarouk?"
Better to do your own research and find what similar are selling for....and save the fees.
