Real questions, do you ever sit in that chair? It already appears there are quite a few items in that area, and in my experience, people don't really tend to sit in chairs in bedrooms. I'd just remove it and not replace it with anything.

My husband uses it as a temporary spot for his clothes, so although we don't sit on it, well he does when he puts on his socks, we do still get some use from it.

I have also thought about removing the tree and the table, just leave the chair and floor lamp.

Could you please post some pics of the whole space and are you going to change the green drapes? IMO the whole sceme will depend on the new furniture

I think in the corner by the window would be a better spot for a chair and one with lower profile arms like the 3rd one would look less bulky and crowded.

We have a chair in our bedroom and although its not used that much, I do like to use it when putting on my shoes and it's also my getaway place when I need quiet. I like the second chair because, at times, I want an armrest. If you don't care about an armrest, I like the third one, too.

i'd not worry about ordering a chair like that from wayfair. 1. read all of the measurements carefully, compare them to your own chair. sometimes internet chairs look like toddler furniture in real life. 2. read all of the reviews carefully. positive and negative, and remember that some of the negatives won't be important to you.

lastly... 1. how does your own chair look styled with a different color? the red really isnt bringing anything fresh to the party, and i've only seen it for 15 seconds. and 2. flip up the skirt (whoa!) and check out the legs. if your chair is getting pitched anyway, if it has nice legs you might like it better with the skirt removed and not need a new chair at all.

i would love to keep the chair, but to reupholster would costs twice as much as a new one. Would you suggest purchasing a chair like this in person instead of online? Ordering furniture online makes me nervous. And I'm definitely getting rid of the red!

noooo i'm not suggesting reupholster. just taking off the red pillow and scarf and trying a different color. i had assumed the red on the back was removable.

as far as ordering online, i'd not order a chair i planned to sit on in the living room every day. but for your husband to sit to put his socks on, how bad could it be. the thing to be careful of is you cant tell how large it is without looking at the measurements. compare the stated height to the height of your own chair, you can envision the chair seat height from that.

i have had good experiences ordering from wayfair. everything has come looking like it was supposed to, in good condition. but with fabric, its hard to tell the color and imagine how the fabric feels. in your situation, if you dont have a mid range furniture store to easily visit, i'd order from wayfair.

Got ya, yes, the red blanket on the back will not go on the next chair, it has stained the current one and there are additional stains on it, from where I don't know, so it's just time. I think I've had it for 20+ years.

I think you're right, Ninigret. I've shopped local stores and for the bedroom, Wayfair has the most reasonable price for putting on socks. :o) All of the chairs above are in the same measurement family as the current chair, so I would feed safe with the measurements, but I will be sure to take again to confirm. I'm going to also add the 2 wood/metal panels above the new chair to give it some height since I'll be removing the table and the tall plant in the corner. I love simplifying!

I purchased the cream chair with the tufted back and the floor lamp, decision made! Thanks to all for the feedback!

I’m thinking one that is taller than the dresser. Doesn’t mean that it has to be larger and bulky, just taller. Even three inches or so.
