Thank you for pointing out the confusion that I am feeling. The chairs are now peeling and have to be replaced. I would like to save the table and find find replacement chairs. It’s a small L shaped room with chrome coffee tables, and navy leather sofa. Any suggestions how to bring this together with the right chairs would be very very welcome.

You will still have disharmony the legs of the table re not chrome. I certainly qould not do wood legs with that table but here are blue chairs with chrome legs , what is is you want from us? IMO the island stools are the odd out man out

I would get RID of the table, the stools in wood are fine. You NEED some warmth rather desperately, jmo. Once the table is all WHITE? and no harsh glass?

Oh thank you for your input yes. I would like harmony and I would like an updated modern feel is that the inclusion of more wood today or is it still the cold chrome and glass?

I am politely trying to tell you the colder feel of glass, /chrome has been left behind for warmer feeling interiors. That means more of natures gifts in color, in texture in the "wood" of trees and the earth from which those trees grow. More texture you can see and feel, and softer. Velvet, linen, chunky wool rugs, wood whether pale or deep. Even the metal trend that began with chrome twenty years ago, and morphed to warm brass in furniture accents, is lessening to MORE wood and less metal in total. Is this a rule you must follow? No.......but the trend is undeniable.

There is a vast difference between fad and trend....not everyone need follow either!

But your space does feel quite cold, the "grey chipping" faux chrome appears to be a less than quality table.

What DID you have in mind when you bought the wood stools? When you want harmony, you consider the whole of everything visible in a space within a mere turn of your head. You have a navy couch, some cocktail table....etc

I will be blunt: The table looks cheap, and I would not cling to it. I would not struggle to buy chairs to harmonize with it, I would look at my counter stools, the rest of my space and ask....what am I going for here? Show the darn WHOLE of your space. Does that mean you put all you own in a dumpster? No it does not: )

My opinion is ome people love chrome and glass and cool colors others not so maybe first figure out what you gravitate towards regardless of what the trend is . I have never loved all wood stuff in my home but there can be a balance of the warm wood and glass / chrome etc. Your home should reflect what you love not what trend is coming down the pike only what you love . When you do that in your home it is timeless IMHO

You can check Amazon. They have quite a few dining chairs with chrome legs. You can read reviews. They do have some blue ones that I am seeing on the quick search I just did. Although, I don’t think you necessarily have to do blue on the dining chairs just because you have blue in the LR. I think white might also be nice.

You might regret not changing the table. Chairs can be quite expensive and a set (try Marketplace) might be a good option instead. Think big picture, so work with stools to create a more cohesive feel.

If interested, the living area could do with warming up and suggest adding a rug. The right shades will have a big influence in unifying the two spaces vs blue chairs in kitchen.

As I mentioned, Amazon has quite a few dining chair offerings with chrome legs. And they do have various colors, including blue. Blue would be nice, and I think white might be nice, also. But these are not the only colors. You do not have to necessarily match the LR blue with the dining chairs, unless you would like to do so.

Can you tell us, what are the pieces you LOVE in both spaces. Some? None? all?

PC up above favors very cool interiors. I admittedly like a bit more warmth.

Nothing about the space at this point feels "modern".....it feels to me contemporary, even a hint to the eighties, and quite cool.....and it is just fine to favor that, if you do.

You are overly concerned with "matching" ( boring) but you want Harmony. harmony does not imply exact matching............but at the same time? Near "misses" in the attempt to match should be avoided, such as trying to "match" the not great table legs.

Step back........what do you currently adore, in both spaces of the single area?

I am not in favour of everyone doing what I like but my advice was for the OP to figure out what they like. I also always have some warmth in all my spaces becuase balance is something I favor. I often add wood to my spaces for exactly that warmth . My advice stands the OP needs to show us what they want in their mind.
