I have a few others too. The fragrance of the leaves is so sweet, fresh, and appley! These are, I think, four years old now.Rosa setigera (I believe; I collected hips from the wild plant I found near a friend's apartment building in Auburn, IN.) Ann, I may have deleted my old Tradescant pictures. Let me check! :)...

***Yes, I'm sorry. I no longer have the images. Mine was about 3'tall and 4'wide, slightly more spreading. The flowers were lighter red and fewer petals and little scent for me most of season one. I did get some very dark blooms in autumn. The scent last year was shy and elusive, but when present was just the best true rose scent.

Good Lord! What gorgeous little plants. You're so brave to come back from cold weather. Do you always experience such dieback? I had that on quite a few of mine, but I'm happy to see they're all rebounding. I'm so looking forward to the pictures once they get bigger. P. S. Yor Tradescantsare gorgeous! I'd say your priorities exactly right.;))

Vaporvac, it really depends on the year, but on average, yes, I do experience a LOT of die-back unless they're super iron clad roses like Kordesii, rugosa, Explorers, etc.

I'll share blooms as they come. I probably have around a month to go!

Love seeing garden photos that experience winter dieback. It helps give me reassurance about my poor winter dead sticks. Yours are a bit farther along than mine, but in no time they will be blooming fools!

Indeedy! Hang in there! I'm finally starting to see some buds on my roses now.

Plus, my newbies from Rogue Valley Roses had some buds, so I do have two cheaters right now:

Gabrielle Noyelle, moss. Same bloom over about three daysOh dear. This is the "Gold Busch" sent from RVR. I know it's just a baby band, but this doesn't look right to me. At all.

I would say this is Reveil Dijonnais based on how the flower looks. It's fragrant. It already has black spot too.

Any ideas from people they actually are experts? (Haha)

I'll snap some pics of growth development of others today too.
