Kitchen Support Post

Hello! We are extending our current kitchen and living room back 15 feet and would love a very modern, open floor plan. Our architect included a support post in the new island. Not ideal. I think a 27-foot support beam in ceiling might be very pricey (I think?). Any other ideas to make the post work? I think it can be moved to left or right if needed. Any creative ideas are welcome.
Also note that the existing breakfast bar is in the drawing here but may remove it because it will now be so far from kitchen activity, no longer makes sense. If it goes, what is best configuration for this great room? I hate how it’s very tight when you walk in front door. TIA.
