Half bath remodel

Looking for ideas on how to update this bathroom.

my thoughts are, remove the wallpaper, replace the floor with wood-look tile, replace the sink, toilet and backsplas. Also thinking of painting the tile gray, or maybe white.

any thoughts??

IMO if you are changing the floorthen you might as well gut it to the studs and start over.. I would not do wood look tile in a bathroom, not sure what tile you were thinking of painting. You for sure need more proper storage. An idea of your budget will be helpful. Actual floor plan with measurements is always good.

You can download Shewin Williams app Color Snap and play with it. It will help you pick up the perfect white for your bathroom.

Here is some suggestions; remove the wallpaper and paint, update light fixtures vanity/countertop or you could change the countertop and leave the vanity and get different cabinet handles. Update the curtains as well and maybe even the mirror too.

I am updating for myself - just bought the house, so I am not ready to dump thousands more into full remodels of various rooms.

I like the idea of removing the wallpaper, replace mirror, replace blue sink and toilet and paint vanity and replace hardware.

here are some ideas I found online.

Thanks for info. I'd guess the photo has the previous owner's things.

Do you have photos of the shower/bath that show the tub and tile?

While you are working, replace the light bulbs in the dim sconces with the brightest bulbs that are safe for the fixtures. Then check the light in the exhaust fan, if you have one. Remove the curtains, strip the wallpaper and prime the walls in white. THen you'll have a clean palette to choose new colors.

Painting a tub and tile usually doesn't last.

It feels very dark and gloomy, maybe ripping down the wallpaper, white paint and painting the cabinet and mirror?

I would remove wall paper and paint - change lighting - change mirror and change window covering.

Are the floors tile or some kind of vinyl sheet covering?

Are the toilet and sink dark blue?

I would avoid painting tile - what color is it now. It's hard to tell from the murky picture.

You can use more storage but frankly I don't understand why there is all that crap in a half bath since generally not a lot of intensive grooming takes place there. If it is used like that, then think about some way to hone down the crap as well as getting it out of sight in some contained storage.

Sorry, I did not mean to type paint the tile gray, or white; I meant to type, paint the cabinets gray, or white.

the junk that is in the bathroom is the previous owners. They are still moving things out.

I snapped the photo in order to start getting ideas on how to update it.

Here is an updated photo of the guest bath remodel - it’s coming along.

Any ideas on how best to finish the remodel? For example to the left of the sink, do I put a standing shelf? Towel holder?? Etc.

Take your travel kit out of your suitcase and spread it around in the bathroom as a guest would do. Don't forget your hair dryer. Take a shower in the guest bathroom. Then you will know what you need to add.

I would add a simple Roman blind, a plant, a wicker basket with lid for tp, a towel ring by the sink, maybe a mat?

Very nice and open and bright! I see you have a basket for the TP on the toilet lid already. If there is no way anyone can see in from anywhere, I like plain windows without treatments because they let in the most light. I feel that the wooden trim dresses it just fine. Do you have a towel hanging on the wall past the door?

Wow! Looks great! I’m not sure how much space you have or if you need additional storage. I would consider a small white cabinet without doors. Adding a couple of baskets and towels. Perhaps a hand towel ring above it.

This one has doors which I think would be nice too.
