I would skip a runner since it will make the walkway look narrower.

Your floors are lovely. I wouldn't cover it with anything but a small mat in front of the bar sink and perhaps another small mat at the entryway.

Thank you all for your input and for saying my floors look great. The issue is, I have two large dogs that shed and my floors look dirty 24/7. I need rugs to mask the hair. There also isn't a bar/sink. I guess I was misleading with my words. There is a 15 foot counter with storage underneath and a cabinet up top, but not an official bar. I'm not sure if that makes a difference.

well, you cant really mask the hair. you'll have hairy rugs and hairy floors. having had a cat, its just how it is.

i'd consider a series of large rectangular rugs, not a runner. one rug for the entry, one for adjacent to the first room, one in front of the bar area.

kind of like.... this.. but no runner.

"if it were me" (its not) i'd think it was easier to just clean a single surface (just the hardwood) than 2 different ones. (hardwood and carpets)

Run a Roomba daily. IMO, rugs just trap some of the hair and runners are a pain to vacuum.

I think the multiple area rugs would look nice in that space!
