I have 3 blooms that look like those. I keep looking at them and wondering what they are! They are blooming later than Allium Sensation and the one Gladiator that survived the winter. They're on strong stems 2 ft tall. Elegant and will look so nice. They are among flowers so you don't see the foliage. Heidi

Although walking onions mainly develop bulbils, they do bloom occasionally - especially on the second tier, as in the photo. The flowers are usually sterile. If you should happen to get a viable seed, try to grow it, you could get something interesting.

Sweet walking onions are a treasure; many of them are quite strong. The ones I have are red and they have a bite to them. Family heirlooms though so they stay.

Would you be willing to share one? Even a bulbil will suffice.

Ootoc, I am sure I can send bulbils and maybe bulbs. I am replanting today since the bulbs are sprouting. Hopefully they will be a source for summer green onions, my Japanese bunching onions go dormant with the heat. I have some bulbs from them as well if you want some.
