Pretty much everyone had documents and photographs and tax records and insurance records and bills they need to a place to store and the drawers can also hold a purse or hat. Some lock -- which is a good thing if you keep a handgun near your bed. Some have a third shallow top drawer on top for putting away a wallet and/or cell phone and/or the jewelry you wear every day.

If a filing cabinet is not tall enough, you could add wheels to add height -- also making them easer to move about for cleaning. There is a wide range of styles and prices. Every office supply store will have a catalog of them if your local furniture stores do not or you cannot find what you want on line.

I love the shape of the upholstery ones. And I think the upholstery is cool looking. But I don’t think they work with the bed. They match too well. You need some contrasting materials. I would look for something mirrored, or metal. I think wood works well also but the shape of the wood one you have pictured doesn’t quite feel substantial enough.
