What do you like? Do you like wood but are doubting it because of thoughts of the care wood might need in a kitchen? I had wood floors in my kitchen and loved it. No issues with the 20 years we lived in that former house. Do you have photos of the space? Maybe you could find a tile you like if Tile is what you love. But, if wood is what you love, search through these thread to get an idea of what has worked for others.

Possibly a cork tile would add comfort and blend in. This version has a ribbon effect.
