I went rug crazy recently. Literally spend hours looking. I was impressed with Rejuvenation and Lulu and Georgia. West elm has some great affordable geometrics. Crate and barrel is nice too though they are all quite itchy since all wool. I'm telling you I've looked at every rug! haha

Mid century vibes, that’s how I feel! My eyes are glazing over. But haven’t checked Lulu and Georgia yet, so thanks for that. I loved one Flor rug but don’t know if I can deal with the stuck down thing. Need to be able to move for cleaning. Love these two: (Paul smith and Jonathan Adler).

We just got an amazing deal this weekend at Bassett Home Furnishings. Most of their rugs are around $1000-2000 but they had a couple of their showroom rugs on clearance for $200 for hand woven wool 8x10 rugs. Also, Wayfair has all levels of rug quality. You can filter by material and hand woven.

Flor tile rugs stick to each other, not the floor. They can still be moved.

Overstock has great options. I’ve bought polypropylene rugs for the first time and they are surprisingly beautiful and soft. My previous rugs (from 3 houses ago and still in my home) were in the $3k range. Not necessary. Overstock and Wayfair and erugs are all worth browsing.

Check local rug stores. In person, you can negotiate and some will bring rugs right to you that match your house.

Lately I find the rug on the Mfg. site,then shop online for price. Use reverse image search because certain rugs and brands will not show up under their official name.

Also another thought. Have you considered a 9 x 12? It might fill up the space more.

Mid Century, yes—the 9’ width would definitely be better. But, the 12’ length would stick out a little past the wall that kind of defines the area. In other words, from the edge of the tile around the fireplace to the end of the wall the couch is on is only 9.5’. Do you think it would look weird sticking out a little? Here’s a rudimentary sketch.

I think you could do so much much better. It really doesn't do much for the space imo and appears too large--- extending past the wall's edge. BTW, I would stick w/wool vs poly.

Now that you have so so so many places to look at rugs, may I suggest you get a rug large enough that at least the front legs of each seating piece will be ON the rug? This is a "rule" that is mentioned by HOUZZers every time someone asks about buying a rug.
When the front of every seating piece sits upon the rug, the arrangement looks more finished and related. I personally like to have (at least) the front HALF of each piece on the rug.

I like it but you do need to scoot the rug under the front feet of the couch. If you want to tone it down a bit you could always layer a rug (cow hide?) over it or add a neutral ottoman.

This rug is too thick to be layered over.

I suggest no layering. But you can do so much better with different rug IMO.
