That looks gorgeous to me!!! How does it look from afar? Sometimes plants lose their wow factor when you get 20 feet away. Does your new hosta have a name? I just did a quick search for hosta with pink in the leaves and came up with zero. OOOooo It's an early bloomer too!

or a very minor cold event a weeks ago.. that you didnt otherwise notice ...

it could also be a hardening off issue to its new location in your garden.. moving it from grower.. to the sale to your garden ... but if you had it since april.. i would probably forego that diagnosis ...

since its a babe.. i would abort the flower ... just cuz ...

i would look to new leaves in the future ... and see if the problem continues ... and if not.. you know it was a prior event.. rather than an ongoing problem ... as new leaves would be adjusted to the current location ...

What Ken said. The plant wasn't fully hardened off and then we had another stupid cold snap.

As to aborting the bloom, let at least one flower open and get pollinated, so the plant's hormonal blooming triggers say they did their job and shouldn't try again this year.

Thanks Ken and Dave. I knew you would have the answers. I wouldn't mind if that was a trait of this hosta though. Cool look to me.
