Can Someone ID this Shrub (tree?)?

We have this plant on the edge of our lawn. It's been growing rapidly the past 2 years.

Can anyone here please identify it?

    I think it is a crape myrtle, although it might also be a Ligustrum, but the photos are really hard to see. Could you get a close up where the majority of the leaves are not in deep shadow?
