Furniture Design Dilemma Before & After

Granite pieces into a table

Please HELP !!!! We are doing a make over to our kitchen. There are two pieces of black granite 1.70*0.60m over. So, I was thinking if I could turn them to a kitchen table. The experts told me that I can't glue them together because the seam will be obvious. Maybe I could have an other material between them ? Wood maybe ? So that It would be along with the bottom of the table?

I think you can. This is my garden table: three left-over tiles of Belgian hardstone are put in a frame of teak. They're not glued so we can take them out in case of replacement

I think anything is possible, it's just a matter of money ... is it worth it to get a custom table made just to use left over granite (?) Another option .... we had a piece of granite leftover and I ended up putting it on top of an extra kitchen cabinet that was shipped in error and used it to extend my kitchen.
