Perennial flower identification? Help please!

last modified: 7 years ago

We moved into our house late last summer, so this is our first spring seeing the various plants come up in our yard. I’m having trouble identifying a few of them, especially since they haven’t bloomed yet. From the old listing photos of the house I know that these were here last year, so they’re perennials, but that’s about all i know. If anyone has any ideas, it would be very helpful! Just trying to figure out the best way to care for these, including potentially relocating them around the yard. Thank you!!

This first one is very tall, 3-4 feet, with large round flower buds. The stalks of the plant are red near the ground. My limited google searching got me to Dahlia, but the leaves don’t exactly match up.

These are shorter, about 18 inches, and must spread easily because I’ve found small clusters popping up in random other spots around the yard. No flower buds yet. These came up pretty early in the spring.

This one is a bush, not perennial flower, but hoping someone can tell me if it is anything special worth saving. I am doing a total overhaul of the yard this year and learning about ornamental shrubs in the process. This one grows quickly and is kind of unruly; I’ve already trimmed it once this year.

THANK YOU!!
