inner city school garden

I teach K-5 STEAM at a school in Columbus, Ohio. These veggies (and sundlowers) were started indoors in the basic Harbor Freight greenhouse (indoor greenhouse? yep) that has a 1000W metal halide bulb and a 180 W L.E.D. The students then transplanted them to the garden. It has a bit of everything (especially volunteer tomatoes) including a potato patch and Chinese sweet potatoes. Kids last day of school was yesterday but theyll be back at the end of July. Hopefully we get a bountiful harvest(we’ve been eating snap peas for about 2-3 weeks). Just thought Id share as it is starting to really grow and look better each day. Next year we’lll be growing hydroponically in the fall and winter. Looking forward to trying this out for the first time.
