I miss Boston Tropical Tree

I really miss the Boston Tropical Tree that used to be at the corner of Rte. 52 and Rte. 1 in Plainville, MA. There I said it.

So, yeah, the plant material wasn't the best for quality or for selection. And they weren't exactly Mr. Miagi when it came to plant care. And I'll acknowledge that some people felt that the owners weren't the most polished retailers and didn't exactly follow the handbook when it came to customer service (I never had a problem with them. Kinda got a kick out of watching new customers who weren't used to the way things were done there.)

Well whatever warts there were on BTT, I took all that with a grain of salt because of the prices. There was nowhere to get anywhere near some of the prices they offered. With a little effort and stopping by regularly, you could find some nice plants at ridiculously low prices.

Does anyone have any good suggestions for cheap plants in the area now that Boston Tropical Tree has closed? Ann & Hope in Medway seems to be trying to be in that space, but it isn't nearly as good. Lowes, Home Depot, Ace Hardware, supermarkets, and the like can't hold a candle to BTT. I'd really appreciate it if anyone has found a good alternative. My neighbor says there's a nursery on the Cape that has an end of summer sale that has great deals, but that's pretty far and I'd like something I can stop by regularly.

Ask only on the New England forum. This is a strictly regional question rather than a design question. I can’t see it on the New England forum because I use the old Garden web interface and it doesn’t allow for multiple tags. Many folks on the New England forum also won’t be able to see this because they don’t use the Houzz interface either. It is part of the programming issues with combining two quite different websites.

Thanks NHB. I thought I had put it in "New England Gardening/Garden Sources." Maybe those are just tags. Things were a lot simpler when Gardenweb wasn't part of Houzz. Are you saying there's a way to get into the Gweb forums without the Houzz interface? I can't seem to get out of the Houzz laybyrinth.

Things have changed since I wrote that and now only the Houzz interface is available. They are still working out the bugs, so if things don’t work right the first time, come back in a few days.

I bookmark the forums I want to visit on my computer so that I don’t have to start with the Houzz stuff and can just go to the garden forums I want to visit.

Bump? Still looking for a good spot for inexpensive plants. Well, not right now, it's January. But 70 degree days got me thinking of spring.

I realize the original post was two years ago but it seems to have some renewed interest. The original posting mentioned a nursery on Cape Cod that has a great end of season sale. Would you please share the name of the nursery and it's location? It's never too early to start thinking about buying more plants that I don't really need!

It is 158 no. Worcester st , it is on the property of an older home , sits way back. Have to go up a long driveway

The sign is for a horse form. Unfortunately, when I went today, the first truck never made iit from the South due to fuel shortages.
