I have Candy Dish (not opened enough to take pic)...my IL died a year ago but I remember the leaves not being so perfectly round. My guess would be Candy Dish....unless Irish Luck matures into that gorgeous leaf you have there! :-)

Will it be helpful when they bloom? Also leaves aren’t quite as round as they appear, for some reason my pics always get “flattened” when I post them here.

Also, does color matter? Because in person the first pic (the one in the pot) is a darker green while the second picture (the one in the ground) is more of a medium green.

Looks like my baby Irish Luck? It’s very shiny and doesn’t easily scorch but did get too wet early this year so he’s a little stunted.

I did a little bit of research. Info is from myhostas.be and hostaregistrar.org.

Candy Dish is described as small (leaves 5" long). The petioles should have purple spots on them. It should have 8 pairs of veins and purple flowers. There is no mention if fragrance. My hostas describes it as having "sugar coated backs".

Irish Luck is described as medium (leaves 13" long). The leaves have a thick, heavy substance. The backside of the leaves is shiny. Flowers are pale lavender and fragrant. It should have 9 to 10 pairs of veins.

No, the shade of green would not be significant. With these looking so similar, the amount of light or fertilizer might affect the color one way or the other.

I'd be looking at the backs of the leaves, looking for purple dots on the petioles and waiting for blooms.

There is absolutely no purple on either of them and back is super shiny. Could one be Invincible and will I be able to tell a difference once flowers come?

If you have the Firefox browser installed, there is a comparison program at the hostalibrary.org that you can use to pull up two different hostas and compare the photos. It's on the home page and is labeled "comparison".

Distinguishing Invincible and Irish Luck may be hard until they mature some more. I lost my Invincible a few years ago, but my photos show a less wavy edge on it. It's appears not to be as deep green as my Irish Luck. If I remember correctly, Invincible has a thinner leaf and was often described as "slug bait". Invincible is supposed to have 6 pairs of veins.

Irish Luck is a seedling of Invincible, so will have many of the same characteristics. The flowers will be similar, both are fragrant and the bloom time will be the same.I think Irish Luck has larger leaves, though. I don't have two live ones to compare, though.
