The semi-permanent part of the title really just means this is not meant to be used in areas where it will be subject to frequent wear and tear. This is not secured in the ground with concrete or pipe anchors, so while it will stand up perfectly fine to normal wind and the occasional bump, it is not designed to withstand frequent abuse. As for how long it lasts, assuming you follow the guidelines above, this should last at least 10 years (we have a 10 year warranty on the product, the details of which can be seen here:
