I have a colony/flock/?? of humingbirds that annually set up their nests and homes in the cedar trees outside my office and kitchen porch... they come in after the orioles are starting to pass on, and show up at the jelly jars and oranges.. and stay around till later summer at least.

I swear my birds show up in the late spring/early summer and know full well to hover and make noise right outside my office window if I don't already have their feeder set up and ready.. or humm/complain around the feeder on the porch if the nectar isn't good.

When I'm puttering around on the porch and garden, or we are having dinner outside.. I swear they almost chide me/us at first for wandering around in their area, then once ignored, they don't care too and sit around drinking or just perching watching the humans, lol.

I've gotten the "bee-de-be-dee" ptttht out of these birds many times.
