I am rubbish at laying out a kitchen. Have you read the thread called New to Kitchens? It gives some very good basic advice. I'll see if I can find it for you. I like your plans so far. Sleek kitchen are lovely. When you say American style fridge, is that about size or layout? Side by side, versus freezer on bottom?

Here is the advice sticky. The people who wrote this are quite good at kitchen design. It's a great place to begin thinking about what to do.
