First off, I'd do some heavy cleaning and de-cluttering.

Then i'd do the window wall all in black, and the slanted wall area in white...bring in some pillows, a bold rug, other accents, and it will transform the space. oh, and lighting. you need decent lighting.

(the room is very cluttered and the photos aren't great, so that's the best I can come up with)
