Have you tried switching the bed to another wall? And dresser under window? Dimensions would help. What color are the walls?

I'm not sure that the layout would work, I think there might not be enough room between the bed and the closet doors to comfortable walk through, but I'm definitely going to take a look!

Btw, gray-greens & Gray- blues look good with espresso colored furniture, for a wall color. Something like Benjamin Moore Gray Cashmere. But make sure any color you pick is complimentary to your floors.

You're the one living there, so I'd make sure it's something visually interesting to YOU despite the colorblindness. Something monochromatic with lots of patterns and textures.
Velvet and silk pillows, linen curtains with embellished textures, lots of bold layered patterns, natural fiber runner rug in front of the dresser, a mirror with a funky metal frame, natural wood or mirrored nightstands, etc etc. I would also do something fabulous with the light fixture - new ones are shockingly affordable and add all kinds of character to a room.
I love the look of 3 white walls, with one wall being either dark or a bold patterned wallpaper. You could even do a wallpaper with some embellished sheen. Limiting it to one wall keeps it from being "too much"

Also, it seems like your closet door is pretty limiting. Can you switch it so it swings in, or trade it out for a pocket or barn door?

We think trying the bed on the wall to the right of the window might be better if it will fit.

Thank you! I did move the bed to that wall and it actually opened up the whole feel of the room. Do you think putting the dresser under the window is a good location for it? Any ideas of what could go in the corner between the dresser and nightstand?

Let us see the new arrangement and pix of all 4 walls so we can give the best input.

Updated with pics! I’m getting a second nightstand to go on the other side of the bed by the wall.

What do you recommend putting in the corner between the nightstand and dresser? Also any wall art ideas to make the room really pop?

That looks way better. Now it's time to fix those poor curtains.

To start with you might want to consider drapes that will block out light in case you want to sleep in some weekends.

Next make sure that the panels are twice as wide as the windows. So a 60 inch wide window gets 2 panels each 60 inches wide. That will make the drapes drape not hang flat.

Not done yet because those panels should just touch the floor. You can always adjust the height of the rod a little rather than hemming.

Don't push the dresser up against the drapes. They should hang straight down.

I'm not suggesting you get purple curtains but you could use a little color. Maybe a dark orange to work with the spread.

Great! Are there any other colors you might recommend besides Orange? Unfortunately that's one color that I really can't stand haha

How about red? That would work with the spread, too.

I think jewel toned purple and aqua would be pretty if you prefer cool colors.

I like the red alot! My window is 72 inches in total length. They don't seem to make curtains long enough would i need to do 2 panels on each side?

Yes, at least two panels on each side. They do make longer curtains. Curtains come in standard lengths 63 inches, 84 inches, 95 inches, 108 inches and 120 inches.

Common standard width is 45" panels.

You need 4 panels total or they'll look skimpy.
