This morning when logging in as usual, I didn't get exactly that page but I got a weird house design page that I've never seen before. :(

I quickly went to "Advice" at the top and then clicked "Gardening" and then "New England Gardening". I'm NOT at all impressed that I had to do three extra steps when my bookmark used to take me straight to New England Gardening....

Houzz has been doing some updates. The whole place wigged out yesterday. Emily chimed in with some info.

As per Saypoint’s link, any time they are messing with programming, things often don’t work well for a couple of days. Usually it returns to normal eventually, so I often don’t try accessing GW for a few days and read something else.

Hmmm, I made a "new" bookmark of this very thread yesterday. I just tried it today and it works (--for now anyway)…. Hope whatever was wrong is fixed….

I think this is deliberate. They bought the gardenweb specifically to harvest new customers from the forums, hence the dunning screen to sign on for "Houzz Advice." first on the search feature, and now on links to the gardenweb forums. If this was a good faith mistake, they would have repaired their search engine months ago and done away with the "Advice" screen.

I think they keep "making a mistake" to see how loud we will scream. It is all over "home decorating' ,"home decorating conversations", "kitchen table", and "cooking".

FWIIW, I will not use the Houzz conversations. They don't work. I don't mind the houzz pictures or shopping or ads. If they want me to see their ads, they need to incorporate Houzz conversations into Garden Web, not the other way around. The Garden Web platforms have a MUCH better IT performance.

Mine is back to normal after two days. For now. If there is anything you REALLY don't want to lose, print a hard copy.
