What do you feed your hostas so they grow so nicely?

In early spring I apply a slow release fertilizer called Osmocote Plus according to directions.

Great growing! My little one planted in 2016 was still sleeping so I moved it this year. It already looks happier.

I need one beautiful plant under my front window and have decided on a hosta. I've seen Bridal Falls at the garden centre - I love the ribbed cascading leaves. BUT - how many years until it matures into a beautiful plant? I'm old - I doubt that I'll be in this house in 8 years. If Bridal Falls will take too long, do you have any ideas for a nicely mounded, max 48" wide, 6 hours of sun, fast growing hosta? Many thanks - I'm still planting!

Vivien, in the conditions you're describing, I'm thinking Bridal Falls would do nicely for you in that spot. With that amount of sun, in your climate, it should grow fairly fast.

Very nice! Mine didn't make it through it's first winter. I may have to try it again. I have War Paint and Niagra falls that have the same form.

Those beautiful pictures!!! I've always lived very close to the real Bridal Falls, so I was telling myself that is why I love that hosta so much. I wish I had just given in a few years ago when I saw it at the garden centre. I looked today but they are sold out for the year. I think I have what zkathy has - Bridal Falls mania!
