Can you post your furniture? Would help a lot

It would be impossible to have an opinion without seeing the furniture in the space. But in general I would say light purple walls would not be my first choice.

not my first choice no, but such a light lilac and gray do often go great together.

From what I see on my screen, it's a great colour. I'd go with it.

So much more interesting than grey. But note how well the dark grey in the curtain works with it.

While I think shades of lavender can look feminine and glam, the color on your wall reminds me of a little girl’s room lavender. What if you have a coat of light gray painted over it, might change the color slightly. Sorry, that stinks.

With all grat furniture, something other than gray walls seems to be needed. so it may very well be a happy accident that you can pick a whole new color.

I would repaint in a soft neutral not gray...here is a gorgeous room for some inspiration....

I still think it looks great, not like a little girls room at all. Put your furniture in there and some cool bedding and live with it awhile, you maybe pleasantly surprised

Why wait and have to paint around all the furniture..if you are already questioning it than change it now when it is much easier...also why work everything around a color you are not sure of.....if you are loving the color and not questioning it than decision made!

Thanks everyone for the responses!! What color would y'all do it if I decide to not leave it? I've looked at so many colors my brain is eh. I'm not sure about a gray because I don't want it to be drab and most of the house is gray (Olympus white downstairs and passive sherwin Williams upstairs). And bathrooms are a blue but want everything to flow.

I would do Behr Silver Drop...beautiful neutral backdrop for your gray furniture and you can add any color to the room with bedding...pillows...art....

With that chandelier! - adult and leave the paint. :)

Lindsay..also the paint color really does not work very well with your carpet...just keep that in mind...

My vote is to change the wall color, looks like a young girl's bedroom. What is your gut telling you to do? Trust it.

This whole story that HIWE put togetner for you is elegant and serene feeling, perfect for a master bedroom.

many designers would tell you to live in a room with your Furniture before painting it. You might try that. moving furniture is either free or way cheaper than re-painting.

Can you post the name of the lavender?

Grey always changes with the light. with a color, at least you know what you're going to get.

In terms of being able to have a beautiful room, I'm definitely in favour of keeping the colour -- what I see isn't at all a juvenile colour. Maybe we are seeing differently on different monitors? I also think it works beautifully with the soft colour of the carpet. However, I do also agree that if it is a colour you really don't like you should change it. I get the feeling that isn't the case; that it's just a colour you didn't expect. With the Great Grey Wave I think a lot of people are nervous about putting any real colour on their walls. Repainting one room after the furniture is in is not such a big deal, I think. So if you like the look of some of the rooms posted above with similar walls, try it out first.

What kind of blue to you have in the bathrooms? Is one of them en suite?

It's called cool morning 4003-7a valspar, there is a master bathroom en suite it's painted schoolboy blue valspar. We are replacing all the floors, so the carpet will be changed.

Oy, I'm trying to work out whether your picture -- which looks close to grey -- is coming through accurately, as these are the colours I find online:

It looks to me as though the Cool Morning is in the same colour 'mood' as your bedroom colour, but the Schoolboy Blue is not. Very hard to tell, though. If the Schoolboy Blue is an en suite bathroom then I think you will need to repaint.

yeah it's weird because that color looks different in the master bathroom than it does in my other bathrooms. Here's another picture from different angle

No one can advise you accurately without seeing the furniture, or images that are close in style to the furniture.

If you tell us the bed looks like this below, the forum will have one opinion.

If you tell use the bed looks like this below the foum will likely have a different opinion. Except for Rina who has never not liked purple.

In general I agree with those who suggest you repaint, especially if a husband or SO is involved.

Funny thing is, that whole area of the spectrum was my bete noire for most of my life. I've slowly learned to appreciate it in my latter years, but I still wouldn't choose it for me. Still, I've seen it used so beautifully.

(Lavender was my best friend's favourite colour. When I was in the US as an exchange student, my mother asked me what colours I wanted in my bedroom as they were repainting. I wanted what I then called biscuit-coloured walls and a burnt orange feature wall behind my bed. When I got back and the grand reveal happened, my room was lavender .... and (ugh!) had grey curtains. Obviously friend and Ma had agreed my choices were 'orrible. I had been breathlessly excited to see my room, so when the door was opened -- one of the nastier moments of my life.)

haha Rina my husband said I can paint the room whatever color I wanted except for blue because the same thing happened to him twice! Blue is my favorite color so I've been struggling to make a really really dark teal match with blush and it's not fun.

Lindsay-- your furniture looks like it would go with anything. I would at least get your lighting setup in the room. That might change the look of the paint quite a bit.

Teal and blush??????????????????? Nope. Didn't work in the 70's and won't work now.

It appears one wall is painted the unintended color and the painting of the others is incomplete? If so, consider using that one wall as your accent wall and paint the others the color you originally intended.

yeah, I added a lot of navy blue in our art and the accent wall looks more like Navy than teal because it's so dark. Lrv is 7. I'm either going to paint the whole room teal or set my hair on fire. Not sure.

Thanks everyone! I just wanted opinions, like I said I don't hate the color but there's also not another color I'm in love with so I'm like I don't know.

So this is the color you picked not a mix up..than keep it just be sure to not add that color anywhere else in the room if you accent go with a deeper version of the color with

layers of white and soft gray..

Lindsay I can commiserate. I like your paint but I like gentle rain from Behr better. It is gray with a strong lavender undertone.
