The only thought I have about that product is that the color choices are all unfortunate. Grey faux wood almost always looks cheap and unnatural IMO. It's also a trend that is dead (finally). If you want a product that is going to last, not just in terms of durability but also style wise so you won't have to change it again any time soon, go for a natural medium stain.

Hi Chrissi, did you install Southwind Timber Lodge? If so, how do you like it? Timber Lodge Authentic Mix is my final choice, but I haven’t ordered it yet. I have a large space, and I’m having a hard time committing to the purchase. I appreciate any insight you may have!

I'm in the same boat Smart Mama. I'm calling to order one box of it to verify it really works in my house. It's a nice color, sample looks good and the little samples I ordered from online that I can keep are so sturdy. My husband and I took keys, screwdriver and a variety of other objects to the sample and to ones from Coretec and it took so much to scratch it. And the color is so neutral the scratch didn't look bad compared to the other ones we did. I'm impressed so far:)

Thanks, Chrissi, for your help! I’m probably going to order soon. Great idea to order one box first. I should do the same thing. My big dilemma is that I have a balcony with two staircases going up and one wide staircase going down. I’m thinking I may have to go real hardwood on those. I’ve seen the vinyl on stairs and I’m not certain that I’ll like the visible mitered edges with usually plastic or metal bullnose. The bullnose can be done with real wood, but there is a height difference and it’s tough making it look right. Ugh.....So much to think about. Thanks again for your help!

We are doing our downstairs and our stairs but we're doing wood on the stairs. I'll stain it to match or do it slightly darker. Please post what you're doing. Love to see it!

Hi Paynerobin, we tried two colors one lighter, one darker and neither worked for us. No problem with how it held up in our test zones (kitchen, pool door, front door) just colors never worked. We decided though to go with a darker more traditional color after a year of looking at light ones and we went with a product we liked previously (almost exactly a year before) by Hallmark Floors. They do lots of wood floors that are spectacularly beautiful but wood doesn’t fit our lifestyle. Their LVP’s are beautiful and have similar stats to others on the market but the deal clincher got me was no repeats per box of 10 pieces. Rich colors, EIR, and truly hard wearing. Ours is their Courtier line in Baroness. The pic reads red much more than in person. Had it installed four days ago and could not be happier.

Chrissi wow, that looks STUNNING! How did you finally decide between the darker or lighter flooring because I’m on the fence about that too? For example the Southwind country natural is a light and bright yellow/ greige vs the forest grove which is a med-dark ashy brown. I have an open floor plan and will be doing the entire house. Both seem to go with my cream/gray/green/taupe granite countertops although I worry about the Southwind floors being too busy with my granite.

That’s tough. I can see what you mean as both the counter and the floor have a lot of movement. I wanted a lighter coastal casual look as we’re not far from the beach and put in a pool. Husband wanted darker and after seeing how our three dark haired dogs shed I think he was right. The dark goes better with our current counter so I can take my time choosing a new one. One of the biggest factors was choosing a color that also went with the majority of our furniture. The dark has blended in beautifully. Have to admit my husband was right. I like the darker one with your counter top but you may look around some more and find one with less movement, more neutral as a backdrop for those beautiful counters!

I really thought I’d seen everything out there and about 1/2 I think came home with me over the last 7 months but I have not seen the Hallmark line. I found a local store that carries it so I’m going to check them out this morning. I am very impressed by the pictures on their website. Which lighter color were you looking at? Was choosing a beveled edge plank or non beveled an issue for you? I totally get dog hair matching the floor! Lol

I don’t feel that Hallmark carried as many lighter colors but def check them out. If anyone near you carries the Wicander’s Hydrocork line they make beautiful floors, too. Have some lovely light colors. Karndean makes Korlock which also has beautiful floors. And Southwind has some new ones that have a small bevel and the colors are muted. looked at these and ordered samples online from American Carpet Wholesalers in Dalton, Ga. the Timber Lodge and Prairie Grass were really pretty. I didn’t mind a small bevel but I didn’t care for the large bevel. My husband didn’t want it at all so we have no real bevel. (Also, some floors have a micro bevel which to me looks more like wood.) it’s all personal pref and I used instagram to do a lot of research on how the product looks down in real homes. The company pix always look weird and unrealistic. Let me know how it goes! Can’t wait to see what you find and what you choose:)

And I forgot Douthwind actually has two beautiful grey tone floors. Might look fantastic with your floors. Estate grey is one that I loved but I knew wouldn’t work with my husband or our home. I still took the big sample board home just because I wanted it to work. Not a lover of grey floors but it is beautiful. Their other grey is called Hermitage. I liked it but Estate was my favorite of the greys.

Hello Chrissi. In your thread from 9 months ago the first pic you share has two samples. The one on the bottom of the pic says Prairie. Who makes that product please! I had settled on Southwind Country Plank a few days ago and am worried about all of the "yellow" talk I've seen here. That pic . you shared looks gorgeous but I can't tell from what you wrote and what I can see who makes that one! Thank you!

Well, after a bit of google searching I found it and have ordered a sample. My husband is going to kill me as we have been looking for 6 months (really) and took a break, came back to Country Plank a few days ago - and now I'm all crazed about too much yellow. This Prairie looks gorgeous. Did you use it?

We used the Courtier line in a color called Baroness. It’s held up beautifully. The day of install my husband helped me move a piece of furniture that didn’t have a pad under on leg and it got a big scratch. With the darker tone I grabbed a black sharpie and dotted it in the scratch line and then ran a lightly damp finger across it and it looked like the saw marks. Totally looked natural. Used that trick every once in a while when I see a scratch. If you have other questions let me know. Post pix so we can see what you like:)

Oh and look up your choices on Instagram. I used that as a resource to see what stuff looked like in a real persons home...not the weird manufacturer photos. Lol.
