My collection- seeking recommendations

Hello everyone! Just joined this thread and I just wanted to share my new cuttings I just acquired. Got my first plumeria 2 yrs ago which has yet to flower, but was blessed with 2 of my 8 new cuttings growing inflos...a Celadine and Singapore. So I'm pretty excited to finally see some flowers! I just wanted to show u all my set up and ask for any advice or recommendations u might have. The whole air filtration or circulation system is something I'm still deciding on what to do, if I necessarily need to hook up the carbon filter and have an exhaust pulling air out...it does get up to 100 degrees in the tent, if I have the light set to 600 watts, so lately I've had it on 400 watts, and it stays around 90. Any advice about wattage would be greatly appreciated. ( too hot or sunburn issues) havent had any problems yet, besides some spider mites...just one quick question tho...the big guy in the back middle; the oldest leaves are turning yellow and falling off. I dont remember if that was a normal thing or not the past 2 yrs, maybe as it grows the oldest leaves just fall off, but I don't think that's right. Any ideas? Thanks everyone. Waiting another week to put em all outside, but dont want them to go dormant so it will be a short summer for em.

Thanks for the info! I will def be checking that thread out. Do u have an idea if the yellowing of my oldest leaves is normal or not on my big guy? I just dont really think it is...I could remember the past 2 summer's there would be a good 6 to 8 layers of leaves on each branch and now in the tent the bottom is dying off keeping it to about 3 to 4 layers...that cant be right...do u or anyone else in this forum know anything about that?

Yellowing and browning on the lower leaves is pretty normal as the plant ages. I've also found that because I grow mine under lights, the canopy is what is getting the majority of the light despite having reflective surfaces to the side of the plant. So some of my plants are a little top heavy. Yours look very normal in fullness for plants of their size. For most most varieties, as they get taller, you see more trunk and branch proportionately. I love Dwarf Singapore because if stays nice and lush all up and down.

From what I can see your plants have great branching and nice leafing for this time of year, and look very healthy and well cared for. You must have really caught the plumeria bug! By August when they are outside they should be in their full glory. You're really doing great- hope you continue to share. This forum can be quiet for a time and then suddenly there's a flurry- you'll get more responses soon. Best wishes.

Welcome. Wish I could offer advice but I have no experience with growing indoors.

Blylock, wondering what your humidity measures in there? And how long do you run your lights?

I have yet to gauge the humidity. All I have is that tiny humidifier which makes it pretty humid for maybe 8 hrs until all the water is dried up. I'm usually not home from work yet, get home and the thing is dry already. So the humidity is very inconsistent. Do u think that's a big problem? I just figured humidity varies all the time outside...and for my light, I have on a timer set for 14 hrs...I feel like I've run into a wall with a couple of em...my Singapore which has that nice full inflo, has seemed to slow its growth. The big cutting all the way to the left in pic is a confetti, and grew that one leaf within 2 weeks of recieciving it in mail. Then just completely stalled...I'm def dojng something they dont like, just cant pinpoint it yet...going to put them outside after this week. Oh and my first flower has browning on its edges...cant be heat, only 90 degrees...I have the light set to 400 watts and it's an hps...maybe I need a diff bulb?

Being outside is best if you have sunny weather and warm conditions. I don't know that you are or are not doing something wrong with the equipment but they are new cuttings so growth can be slow for a few months. Maybe the growth is under the soil. I would actually put a heat mat in there and warm the soil from underneath.

90 degrees, 14 hours, and variable humidity is relatively comparable to outside conditions mine are in (high 90s, 10-12 hours full/filtered, 30-70% humidity).

Ok sounds good. Thanks for the advice...u still think a heat mat is necessary even if its 90 degrees in the tent?
