Rubber Pavers?

Are these the pavers I see on the driveway? Where do they come from? I'd love to know. Can I put them on top of tarmac? Dreaming of the driveway in Topanga Ca. I wonder what the Fire department thinks about these...Love Topanga but we have so many constraints here. Thanks!

The pavers we used in this project are called VAST. They are made with up 95% recycled material from used rubber tires and plastic bottles. We loved the ease of installation. They are light weight, create a permeable surface, and can be cut with typical carpentry tools. We installed them over a course sand bed, compacted and screeded flat, then put the grids in place and installed a three color random pattern. I'm not sure if you could put them on top of tarmac, but suspect you could if it is a good flat surface in serviceable condition. I would recommend contacting the company for their thoughts on this. The site for VAST is http://vastpavers.com
Best of luck with your project.
