was wondering how you made the timbers stay in place, i see the bolts but what are the bolts attached to under the stone?

    Hi - simple construction. Two 4"x4" pressure treated posts around 2' in length get attached to the cedar step. Pressure treated posts are then set into post holes and backfilled with tamped soil.

    Make sure and cut the 4"x4" treated post about 2" below the top of the cedar step so that you don't see it when you backfill the gravel.
