Personally, I would prefer shorter lamps, but what you have is very pretty.

Hi Crystal, what color are you thinking for the space as an accent because I think something colorful, like blue glass or a fun lamp-shade might be needed with the dark finishes you have on the mirror and cabinet.

I think the tall lamps in the picture may be just a bit too tall.

I would do one lamp and some other accents :)

I would also consider a rug!

You need some tall black or even gold lamps to put on the sides. Note the lamps in the back of the photos? Some lamps similar to those.

Are you adding more furnishing to this room or is this the entry area and lamps will finish off the look?

If you need more furnishing in this room then get it first and add the lamps.....they will be like earrings for a dress so to speak......but I do agree that something tall, maybe 2/3 height of the mirror would work and the sky is the limit, but strong to balance the mirror and the chest! Lovely set up!

I like the wall lamps and definitely you need a rug ...lovely pictures have been submitted to you ..so go and finish your lovely room !

They are a great looking lamp one of my favorite styles :) the matching floor lamp is fabulous!

You say you have a "bare formal living room" with only those two pieces, but I see another living room just through the archway. What is it that you use this room for?
We can start spending your money on furniture and lighting, but we have no details about what you need.

Felizlady-the room I’m posting about is the formal living room that I haven’t decorated yet and is never used. The other room through the archway is the family room, which we mostly occupy (watching tv, etc).

At this time I am trying to slowly start working on the “bare” formal living room. I’m not worried about the family room, for now.

Other than getting the buffet decorated and some stuff on the walls, I have no idea what to use this room for

It will likely just be a sitting room.

Julie-do you have any suggestions on similar lamps to that one, with a lower price point? That’s hefty for just one lamp, lol.

Sure..these are both great looking sets..I have used before...one set is 29“ high and the other set is very tall 37” what is the height of your mirror?
