Liberty 6-3--18

One of my very favourites...sadly covered in ‘tree trash’ today as the locust sheds its bloom. And ONE really isn’t enough...

Rouge, not sure exactly why, but the 3 small ones I've purchased just didn't seem to have the stamina to make it through more than 2 seasons. If I ever see a large Liberty for sale at a local place, I will buy it. Maybe a larger one would have the roots/toughness to get established. It's one of the first hostas I ever ordered, and I love it. : )

Liberty stands out even in a crowd, although I'm sure mine would like to be a little freer. ....(4 o'clock area)

Mine this year Im guessing it is 4 -5 years - It is in a great location to show off but the ground in this bed is not the best, lots of clay soil and roots but so far it keeps coming back better each year.

windymess in the background is Blue Mammoth, it slow to grow but pretty when it does.

@rpwoodard, had to look it up. The one in the picture is only two years old - I bought it at Fransen's Hostaparadise in 2016. I've got another one which is a year older that came from another nursery in the south of Germany and it is half as large and the margins are half as wide.

I don't know why this is as they are growing side by side.

I planted mine in memory of Ghislain Seguin (Papou), the summer that he passed away. Liberty was his favorite hosta.

Your Liberty is beautiful! Makes me want to move mine into more sun.
