What's going on with my catmint?

I transplanted a couple of catmint plants a few days ago, and over the past couple days I have noticed yellowing leaves and the base of the plant(leaves and stem) turning brown. The plants do not appear to be wilting much. I was advised to water transplants a lot so I have been watering everyday (sometimes twice). We Ave not had any very hot days. I have a feeling I've been over watering. It's only been six days. Am I dealing with transplant shock or root rot? Should I wait and see or not risk harming other plants? The one in the middle was not transplanted at it looks fine. Hoping I can save these babies!.

Yes too much water!

You only want to keep the soil moist not waterlogged. Back off on the water and check the soil before watering. Insert your finger deep and only water when it feels almost dry.

be nice to know where you are ...

definitely transplant shock ...

i dont know how your soil drains ... so its hard to opine if you are overwatering . but i would suggest you insert finger .. AND FIND OUT... if a plant needs water.. rather than just dumping water on it endlessly ... make sure it isnt swampy before the next deep drink ...

also.. start making a list now.. for what you might want to move in fall .. timing really helps avoid a lot of this .. again.. depending on location ... but if you had done this a few weeks earlier ... you may have avoided the heavy stress.. that is making the older leaves yellow ... i like to say it sacrificing the older leaves.. to protect the new growth.. so look to that.. to see how the plant is currently doing .. always try to avoid moving a plant in flower ....

all that said ... it should be rather hard to kill most anything in the mint family [and its associates...] .. so just relax about all that ...

try not to love them to death ... they are stressed.. not hungry .... fert is not a response /.... at this time ...

Thank you for your response. I am definitely overwatering..the soil below is very moist. I took a risk transplanting these at this time because I knew we were going to have a week of cool weather. I felt I couldn't wait until fall because I accidentally planted them in the middle of a few hostas that shot up MUCH larger this year and were swallowing them. I couldn't divide the hostas without disturbing them anyway. New growth comes from the top correct? I know silly question but I am a total gardening newbie and trying to learn.

I am in the Hudson Valley NY. It was a high of 70 almost all week.
