You have an open concept that some folks would die for, so don't clutter it up too much. I do agree it does need something to say, this is home.

On he left wall of the alcove, you might hang a calendar that has nice pictures. On the wall where the Roomba is plugged in, you could decorate this space by hanging a few family photos of memorable moments. Do not put antique photos of ancestors here. There is too much light that may fade treasured photos. Hang those elsewhere.

A set of drawn back curtains on the windows might be a nice touch.
