Question about Gold Nugget Mandarin

I just recently bought a GN Mandarin tree. I noticed that after all the flower petals fall off, the little mandarin fruit is pale yellow in color. Over several weeks, it slowly turns green. Is this normal? The fruits on my satsuma is always dark green right from the get start.

I don’t have a GN, but I have also noticed that some of my varieties are dark green and others are very pale and slowly turn green. I think it just depends on the variety. A few people here have GNs, I’m sure somebody will chime in.

Sometimes and other times not,,, then again its not something I've paid much attention to. Of the four GNs that i have planted, all fruited only after 2 to 3 years in the ground. And as with most all citrus, fruit quality improves with age.

Be patient... you will be rewarded!
